Maryland Inspection
Considering buying or selling a used vehicle?
The State of Maryland requires that used vehicles obtain an inspection certificate prior to resale in order to be issued Maryland tags. A vehicle also needs an inspection to have tags transferred from another state.
CT Automotive is an authorized Maryland State Inspection Station. We work on cars and light trucks up to 10,000 pounds. All inspections are done by Lester. When an inspection is completed, if no problems are identified and the vehicle meets safety standards, the owner will be given the inspection certificate. If a vehicle does not pass inspection, the inspector will provide you with a checklist of the problems that need to be addressed.
You have the option of fixing the problem yourself, having CT Automotive fix the problem or taking the vehicle to another facility for repairs. When repairs are completed, the vehicle should be re-inspected by the same registered inspection mechanic at the same station. There is a 30 day/1000 mile limitation to the inspection process.
If you get a ticket with a service order on it from the authorities, Lester can fix the problem and sign off on the order to maintain compliance with state regulations.
